Mornings With KP

Tuesday, December 9, 2025 - 2 minutes

Let’s go back to December of 2005 – when Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were married at their home is Owasso, Oklahoma

Garth and Trisha are an iconic country music couple. They met during a demo recording session in Nashville in 1987, but were both married to other people at the time, so in their early friendship, they were strictly professional. Over the years, they toured together, becoming close friends, and after they both divorced their spouses, they began dating in 2002.

Soon after, Garth proposed during a live show, dropping to one knee on stage with a massive heart-shaped arrangement of roses behind him. Their love brought some of the best duets, including “What Gave Me Away” and “In Another’s Eyes.”
