Hey, did you know that Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2023, making her the oldest artist to have a number one single in the charts' history?
Yeah, and the artist with the longest gap between number ones, following her 1960s song, “I Want To Be Wanted.”
Brenda Lee became globally famous as a pop singer because of “Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree” but she led a very successful country music career. In the 70s and 80s, she charted more than 30 Top 40 Country singles AND she’s also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Brenda Lee is the perfect example of a star who shines in many genres - country, pop, and rock - oh and did I mention she is also a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
