Going back to 2019, we are six albums deep since her “Fearless” album, Taylor Swift is awarded “Artist of the Decade” by the American Music Awards.
She had a huge win that night, winning seven awards total, becoming the most-awarded artist in AMA history, surpassing Michael Jackson at the time. She performed a medley of The Man, Love Story, I Knew You Were Trouble, Blank Space, Shake It Off, and Lover, just a few of her biggest hits from that decade that night and actually, this was right after the public battle with Scooter Braun over ownership of her master recordings.
Her Artist of the Decade performance was framed as a “statement” and fans called it “the most polite but effective revenge performance ever.”
