It’s one of the biggest days in country music, the CMA Awards are tonight on ABC, Lainey Wilson will be solo hosting the show, and in honor of the ceremony tonight, I’m looking back at some of the best moments of CMA Awards history.
There are so many to choose from, but here are a few of my favorites. Back in 1988, when Dolly Parton was solo hosting and took a seat right on the lap of the young and up-and-coming Randy Travis.
Or, back in 2007, when a young Taylor Swift got emotional after winning big.
And finally, the 50th anniversary show honoring Randy Travis with a group rendition of "Forever and Ever, Amen" sung by Reba, Dwight Yokam, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, and more, with Randy ending the song with his iconic “Amennnn” finish.
